The Modern Old Fashioned Sweetie Shop
The ice cream cabin is a family owned ice cream and confectionery shop in the fishing town of Buckie in the North East of Scotland. It was bought by Dougall and Moira Simpson in 1995. The purchase of the shop included the recipe for vanilla ice cream, which was all that was made at that time. Now 14 years on they have an impressive cabinet which has at any one time 24 different flavours of both ice cream and sorbet all made on the premises.

Our ice cream
This does not mean however that they only make 24 flavours, the ice cream cabin pride themselves on offering a ‘bespoke’ service to their customers, which has seen flavours such as Gin & Tonic Sorbet, Cucumber and Avocado Sorbet, Mascarpone ice cream, Kumquat ice cream and Amaretto ice cream being made to request. They put down this service and of course the quality of the ice cream as to how they have built up a very admirable customer base.
The ice cream cabin also offers a wide range of homemade confectionery made on the premises, a large selection of jars of traditional sweets, fruit baskets made to order and a kids mix corner full of all your favourite penny mix!
